UK’s living kidney sharing scheme hit the 1000th transplants milestone

The 1000th transplant carried out as part of the UK Living Kidney Sharing Schemes occurred during the week of World Kidney Day (14th March).  NHS Blood and Transplant put out a press release on this event. Non-directed donors are ‘game changers’ in fight to cut kidney transplant waiting list in the UK.
