Paolo Ferrari has passed on information about the recent launch of ANZKX: the Australian and New Zealand Paired Kidney Exchange Program (see the recent press release). Paolo has been involved in helping this scheme become a reality since mid-2015. He will be giving a talk at the ENCKEP meeting in Glasgow in December, in which he will describe this work in more detail, informing us about the legislative and regulatory barriers, and the major logistical hurdles for organ transport, that had to be surmounted. This will obviously be of significance to our network as we look to strengthen the opportunities for transnational collaboration in a European context.
